Things not going your way?

What are you to do?

Let’s take a closer look.

Starting with: How did you get here?

From time to time things work out and go our way. We are convinced it is meant to be. We are convinced it is divine intervention. We don’t want it to stop. We can’t do anything wrong. Things just work and work and continue to work out. And we feel magical.

Then the tide changes!

At first we don’t see it as that. Nevertheless, doors start closing. Things start changing. Suddenly nothing goes smoothly. Then everything that worked out doesn’t anymore.

We feel we want to run away. There might be nowhere to turn to.

Now what? A perfect world collapsed.

Where we had lots of energy and were running high on Adrenalin, we’re now tired. It is a drag to take on the next task, even the small ones.

Our energy levels are low.

Again! What now?

Are we failing? What happened to the previous success?

Why does nothing go our way?

What now?

First, is to acknowledge: from time to time circumstances go our way. This phase can continue, for long periods of time. It even feels as if we can’t do anything wrong. Then the tide turns. And circumstances don’t go our way. The tide always turns. At some point things are going to give. We then enter a phase when things don’t go as smoothly as before and even collapse. Now it feels as if our world collapsed.

Acknowledge further that the tide turned and will always turn and that this dynamic is out of our hands.

Acknowledge further that the tide turning is not a reflection of us, but merely a dynamic of life and of nature. Seasons change. The weather changes. Tides change daily.
One thing we can be sure of is; things always change.

Acknowledge further: The cliché, as one door closes, another opens.

Acknowledge further that the change in circumstances impacts on you and that impact is tough to comprehend and to process.

Acknowledge further that as things are turning south our already low energy levels are drained further and even out of proportion, because things aren’t going our way. It’s difficult to understand why our almost perfect world has turned.

Acknowledge further that we are results oriented. When favorable we respond in a certain way and when not favorable we respond another way. Is that nurtured behavior or natural behavior? For instance, when the weather turns rainy when we’re having a picnic some people might be frustrated. Whereas, people a few steps away doing something else while it is raining, might feel rejuvenated.

Acknowledge further that we’re impacted and we’d prefer to continue calmly and with peacefulness, irrespective of what circumstances conjure up. We’ve all experienced that where we originally consider some unbearable future circumstances, after we close one door and enter the ‘unbearable’ one suddenly things lighten up and we feel that going through the new and previously considered unbearable door, was a blessing. Thus our ups and downs are nurtured and merely perceptions.

Acknowledge further that even though you might not have any idea how to get out of this predicament, if there was a way, you’d want to know about it and adjust your stance.

Acknowledge further that where you find yourself is merely a perception and for each person experiencing the predicament, their response would be different.
